Privacy Policy

The short version: Marquee keeps your data on your iPhone. There is no Marquee account, no Marquee server, and no advertising or analytics of any kind. Nobody at CalyxGo can see where you are, what you set up, or how you use the app.

Location

If you allow it, Marquee reads your device's location while you are using the app, and uses it for one thing: getting the forecast where you are. The location is sent to Apple's weather service to fetch that forecast, and is rounded to roughly a square kilometre before being used to store the result, so the saved copy is not a precise record of where you were.

Your location is never sent to CalyxGo, and it is never sold, shared or used for advertising. You can refuse or withdraw permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Marquee keeps working; it just cannot show a local forecast.

Weather data

Forecasts come from Apple Weather. Apple's own privacy terms cover what Apple does with the request: see Apple's Weather & Maps privacy notice. Marquee stores the forecast it receives on your device so the app and its widgets can show the same numbers without asking for it again.

What is stored, and where

• Your times, theme, units and other settings — on your device.
• The most recent forecast — on your device, in a shared area the Marquee widgets can read.
• Your notifications, if you switch them on (the morning note, big-swing heads-ups and weather warnings) — scheduled by iOS on your device. To send warnings on time, Marquee may fetch the forecast in the background a few times a day, the same way it does when the app is open.

None of this leaves your iPhone, except that iCloud may include it in your own device backup if you have backups switched on. Deleting Marquee deletes all of it.

Marquee Pro subscriptions

Marquee Pro is sold through Apple. Apple handles the payment and tells Marquee only whether a subscription is currently active. CalyxGo never receives your name, card details or Apple Account details. Apple's privacy policy covers the purchase itself.

Tracking, analytics and ads

There are none. Marquee contains no third-party software development kits, no advertising, no crash reporting services and no usage tracking, and it does not use the Advertising Identifier. Nothing is shared with data brokers.

Children

Marquee is a weather app suitable for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
